2026 Recommended Changes to the CAAO Bylaws from the Bylaws Committee

The Committee recommends the following changes to the CAAO Bylaws to be put forward to the CAAO membership for a ballot vote. The recommendations are being forwarded to the Chairman of the Election Committee in accordance with Article III, Section 2: Bylaws Changes and Article VIII, Section 1: Amendments of the CAAO Bylaws.
ARTICLE IV
SECTION 6: LEGISLATIVE
It Shall be the responsibility of the Legislative Committee to compile and review new legislation affecting the assessment profession. Said Committee Chairperson shall present periodic reports to the Executive Board for their review. Said Executive Board and Legislative Committee shall work in concert to present to the General Assembly legislation that will improve the assessment administration process in the State of Connecticut.
The Legislative Committee Chair will present the legislative changes following that year’s legislative session at the Annual CAAO Symposium, and when unable to present, the legislative chair will appoint a legislative committee member to present at the symposium in their absence.
ARTICLE IV
SECTION 6: EDUCATION
The Education Committee shall have a sub-committee, known as the Instructor Certification Committee which shall consist of the CCMA Committee Chairperson, [and] Senior Instructors of each CCMA course, Chairperson(s) of the CAAO Education Committee, two members of the CCMA Committee, appointed by the CCMA Committee, who are not senior instructors, in addition to the CCMA Chairperson, and all instructors that have taught a minimum of five CCMA Courses and the last class taught was within the past five years. It shall be a responsibility of the Instructor Certification Committee to recommend instructors for CCMA courses to be certified by the Education Committee, said instructors to be subject to the approval of the CCMA Committee.
