Research/Historian Committee Request

The CAAO Executive Board has charged the Research/Historian Committee with gathering information about Connecticut Assessors who have attained their CAE (Certified Assessment Evaluator) Designation from the IAAO.

Some background:  The CAE program includes very demanding standards. Successful candidates must have hands-on experience, have passed certain intensive tests demonstrating one's complete knowledge of both real and personal property and they must also compose a complete demonstration appraisal report.  During the early days of the IAAO, several Connecticut Assessors led the way among all Assessors in obtaining the CAE designation.  Aldro Jenks was the very first CAE in 1950.  He was also President of CAAO and an IAAO President. 

As per Marsha Standish, current IAAO Executive Board Member, IAAO's records lack certain important information.  They do not have all of the information they need to have about Assessor's who have been awarded this designation. In fact, they do not even have all the names of the designees.  Therefore the Research/Historian Committee is looking for any and all information available about the early days of the IAAO in Connecticut as well as information about the Connecticut Assessor's who have attained the CAE designation.  Information may include, but is not limited to, name, CAE number, place of employment, CAAO office held or any other detail that is known.
